Christmas menu
During the whole of December we will be offering a special festive set menu. It will consist of an aperitif glass of Chapel Down (an excellent sparkling wine from Kent), an amuse bouche, a choice of 4 starters, 4 mains and 4 desserts, coffee/tea, festive petit fours and Christmas crackers. The cost is £50 per person (including VAT, not including 12.5% service charge). Please see the menu attached. Please note that for parties of 23 or more, all guests will have the same starter, main and dessert with the exception of vegetarians.

Reservations

Advance menu choices
Please note that we will require your food choices from the Christmas menu in advance. We will send you a food order form to complete and return to us at least 10 days in advance of your booking. If there are any special dietary requirements of which we should be aware then please indicate these on the form next to the individual's name.
Wine pre-orders
We would strongly recommend that you choose your wines in advance so as to avoid our running out of your chosen wines on the day/evening (as we do not keep large stocks of all wines). We have prepared a special selection of Christmas wines to match the Christmas menu and the list is attached. Alternatively you can choose from our full list which you can find here.
Vacating tables after the lunch sitting
After the lunch sitting during the week, you are welcome to stay at your table until 5pm sharp but will need to vacate at this time to allow us to set up for the evening service. Your are more than welcome to continue drinking in the bar areas (subject to any private functions taking place).
Credit card guarantee
On confirmation of a Christmas lunch/dinner or private dining reservation, we will ask you to complete and return our terms and conditions where we will require your credit card details to secure your booking. No deposit will be taken for your reservation and we will only make a deduction from your card if the booking is cancelled. The deduction will equate to the cost of the food element of your booking.
Where large group bookings reduce in number on the day/evening ie if some members of a reserved group do not turn up for your booking, we reserve the right to charge £50 per “no show”.
For private drinks and canapé/buffet parties, on confirmation of a booking, we will require your credit card details to secure the booking and a credit card guarantee of 50% of the agreed minimum spend. We will send you our terms and conditions to sign and return. No deposit will be taken for your reservation and we will only make a deduction from your card if the booking is cancelled.
Private dining
We have two private dining rooms at the Gun: “The Cabin Room” and “The River Room”. The main dining room in the front area of the pub is also available for exclusive hire during December.
The Cabin Room
This private room can seat up to 22 people on two long rectangular tables or 12 people around one large round table. The Cabin Room is on the ground floor at the back of the pub and has two windows looking out onto the terrace with the Thames behind. It also looks directly at the O2. The walls are painted with scenes of the battle of Trafalgar as well as a picture of Lord Nelson’s cabin aboard HMS Victory. Please see our website for pictures.
There is no hire charge for the exclusive use of this room for parties of 18 or more.
The River Room
This magnificent private room can seat up to 14 people around one long rectangular mahogany table. The room is situated upstairs on the first floor with high ceilings, chandelier, candelabra and huge river fronted windows. It has a spectacular view of the O2 as well as fantastic river views. Please note that access to this room is via the back stairs and staff areas. Please see our website for pictures.
There is no hire charge for the exclusive use of this room for parties of 10 or more.
The Main Dining Room
Our main dining area at the front of the pub can seat up to 68 people and can be hired exclusively for large groups. There is no hire charge but a minimum spend will apply.
Private Drinks and Canapé Parties
Our private rooms and other areas of the pub/terrace can be hired out for private Christmas drinks and canapé/buffet parties. There are no hire charges but a minimum spend will apply depending on the size of the party and the room/area required.
New Year's Eve
On New Year’s Eve, we will be serving a special Champagne Feast menu and we will be open until 2am. The event is for prior reservations only. Customers wishing to come to The Gun just for drinks may do so on prior arrangement with us. Last Orders and Late Licenses
Please note that our alcohol licence requires that last orders are taken at midnight sharp and that all customers have vacated the premises by 12.30am. However, for large groups and private events, a later licence can be arranged (for an additional fee).
Opening times during December and around New Year
The Gun is open Monday-Sunday from 10am-midnight (11pm on Sundays). Food is available Mon-Fri from 12noon-3pm and again from 6.30pm-10.30pm (barsnacks are available from 3pm-6pm). At weekends, food is available all day from 10.30am-10.30pm (10pm Sundays) with a break between 4.00pm and 6.30pm.
